Helen Correll

Environmental Scientist

As an Environmental Scientist, Ms. Correll is responsible for managing and supporting long-term regulatory groundwater monitoring programs for hazardous waste facilities across the United States. She earned an M.S. in Applied Chemistry from the Colorado School of Mines, where she conducted research at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Helen also holds a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State University, with a minor in Statistics. Her work has spanned from characterizing CO₂ capture materials to managing complex hazardous waste site projects.

 

Through her role at Leppert Associates, Ms. Correll has developed advanced skills in environmental data analysis, regulatory reporting, and technical communication. She is proficient in using Python for statistical evaluations, PostgreSQL for database management, and QGIS for geospatial data representation. Her work includes preparing regulatory compliance reports, creating clear and accurate data visualizations, and ensuring alignment with federal regulations including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). Prior to entering the environmental consulting industry, she developed leadership experience in conservation fieldwork and education through service roles in remote backcountry settings and underserved communities.
