Aaron J Engers
Hydrologist
Aaron is a geoscientist with specific interests in hydrogeology, geological engineering, and numerical modeling. He has an MS degree in Hydrology at the Colorado School of Mines, building upon the BS degree in Geological Engineering that he earned there. As a technician for Leppert Associates, he has been involved in many aspects of site characterization, data analysis, and report preparation including field visits, statistical analyses, development of conceptual models for quantitative ecological risk assessments, technical writing, and figure generation. Aaron enjoys challenging and complex problem-solving and is passionate about learning new aspects of physical science, mathematics, and computer programming.
Prior to pursuing a career as a hydrogeologist in the environmental consulting industry, Aaron gained 15 years of supervisory experience in a variety of positions that included an inspector and patrolman of a narrow-gauge railroad line in southwest Colorado, a rope-access technician for rooftop snow and ice removal on large commercial buildings, and the foreman for a landscaping company.

· Master of Science in Hydrology, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado.
· Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colorado. Graduated summa cum laude.
· Computer skills and relevant applications include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint), MATLAB & GNU Octave, Geographical Information Systems software (ArcGIS & QGIS), Graphical Design (GNU Image Manipulation Program & Inkscape). Programming experience in C++. Familiar with numerical groundwater modeling using MODFLOW and MT3D.
